What’s New in Promodag StoreLog 5

Welcome to Promodag StoreLog 5, the new and improved tool that automates the creation and storage of Exchange Online message tracking logs into a database, enabling ephemeral data to be stored indefinitely and analyzed in depth over the long term. This optimized version is fully compatible with Microsoft 365 modern authentication and also supports the latest versions of On-premises Exchange, Windows and SQL Server.

Improved creation of Exchange Online (EXOL) message tracking logs

A key highlight of Promodag StoreLog is its capability to extract message tracking information from Exchange Online, storing it in files that closely resemble usual Exchange on-premises tracking logs. These files can then be seamlessly imported into an SQL database at a later stage. By aligning the code used in StoreLog with that of Promodag Reports, upgrades are now quicker and compatibility between the two products is guaranteed: you can now import tracking logs previously generated free of charge with StoreLog into a Promodag Reports database.

Optimized speed for importing tracking logs

The new version of Promodag StoreLog implements an improved algorithm that enables Exchange tracking logs to be imported more than 10 times faster than before, delivering a smoother, faster experience for users. This enhancement is specifically targeted at Exchange Online users who manage hourly volumes in excess of ten thousand messages. This evolution has been applied to both database types supported by Promodag StoreLog: SQL Express LocalDB and SQL Server.

A single, more secure authentication mode for Exchange Online

We have extended certificate-based authentication to Promodag StoreLog as we did with Promodag Reports.  A script for creating the Azure application and the role group and service principal needed to run it, all with minimal permissions, is now delivered with the product for your convenience. You no longer have to create a user account and worry about its password expiring. Finally, this mode of access to Exchange Online resources is compatible with multi-factor authentication (MFA).

Modernized interface

The ergonomics of the tracking log import options have been improved to enable more intuitive selection of the date range to be imported and to consider the latest versions of Exchange. 

Compatibility with the latest Microsoft systems

Promodag StoreLog 5 can import tracking logs from Exchange 2019. This version also supports Windows Server 2022/Windows 11 and SQL Server 2022.
