Is there any report on message attachment traffic ?

Question:

We are looking for a reporting tool that would include a report on message attachment traffic. Does Promodag Reports provide this feature ?

Answer:

Microsoft Exchange message traffic files do not contain any information about attachments. Promodag Reports imports the content of these files into the database, and uses this material to generate reports on e-mail traffic. As a consequence, reports on e-mail traffic do not give any detail on message attachments: the required information does simply not exist in the available native Exchange data sources.

Use the Message Attachments report template, that you will find under the Templates > Mailbox Content menu, in order to retrieve information on attachments currently stored in user mailboxes. This report allows filtering messages that contain specific attachments.

Another option is to use the General Mailbox Content report template, whose filtering functions are even more advanced.
